Fuel System Primary Filter (Water Separator) Element - Replace
2. Push the switch
to the ON position in order to
pump the fuel.
Note: If the pu
mp will not pump fuel, the pump may
be faulty or an air leak may occur on the suction side
of the fuel system.
3. Continue to prime the fuel system until the flow
of fuel is free of air bubbles. Fuel should flow
continuous
ly from the drain hose.
4. After air has been purged from the fuel system,
close the pu
rge valve.
5. PushtheswitchtotheONpositionfor
approxima
tely 30 seconds in order to pressurize
the fuel system.
6. Start the e
ngine. If the engine will not start, further
priming is necessary. If the engine starts but the
engine continues to misfire, further priming is
necessar
y. If the engine starts but the engine
continues to emit smoke, further priming is
necessary.
7. If the engine starts but the engine runs rough,
continue to run the engine at low idle until the
engine r
uns smoothly.

NOTICE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained
duri
ng performance of inspection, maintenance, test-
ing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to
collect the fluid with suitable containers before open-
ing
any compartment or disassembling any compo-
nent containing fluids.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and
ma
ndates.
NOTICE
Do not fill fuel filters with fuel before installing them.
Contaminated fuel will cause accelerated wear to fuel
systemparts.Fuelsystemshouldbeprimedpriorto
starting the engine.
Procedure for the Tractor

The primary fuel filter for the tractor is mounted on
the front of the hydraulic tank. The primary fuel
filter is on the right side of the engine compartment
underneath the hood.
1. Park the machine on a level surface.
2. Lower the bowl.
3. Shut off the engine.
4. Move fuel shutoff valve (4) to the CLOSED
position.
5. Clean primary fuel filter (2). Clean filter mounting
base (1), which is located above the filter.
6. Turn the filter to the left in order to loosen the fi lter.
Loosen the filter with a strap type wrench.
7. Remove the filter. Clean the bottom of the filter
mounting base. Make sure that all of the old filter
seal is removed.
8. Remove water separator bowl (3) from fuel filter
(2). Clean the water separator bowl and clean the
groove for the O-ring.
Note: Check the water separator bowl for damage.
Reuse the water separator bowl if no damage is
present.
